Disillusion is a German progressive metal band with elements of melodic death, black, thrash, and more recently, industrial. It consists of two members - Rajk Barthel (guitar) and Andy Schmidt (vocals, guitar, bass and keyboards), the main songwriter. Back To Times Of Splendor (2004) is the band's first release, where egyptian and epic lyrics marry a researched, emotional songwriting, full of influences like Opeth, Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity, Katatonia etc... The album took ten years to complete, and six months to record. With their second full-length album Gloria (2006), the band has undergone a controversial stylistic change to a more industrial-influenced sound.
